overview

On Saint George’s Day in Catalonia a flower is exchanged for a book as a show of love. Palafrugell stages a continuous public reading of texts by the writer Josep Pla and any member of the public who so wishes may take part. To promote the event, fragments of the texts were printed on a 32-page print signature. When folded, it is used to gift attendees the extracts in booklet format, and when unfolded it is used as a poster for the event. A discrete superimposed geometrical rose symbolises both the flower and the idea of togetherness. It is a participatory celebration.

For the 2019 edition of Sant Jordi, we have continued with the strategy of the previous edition, but using Josep Pla manuscripts instead of printed pages. If you like these posters, ask them at pere@palvaro.com and we will send you a copy
