Palafrugell, my hometown, has a cork industrial past that, until the arrival of the tourist industry in the sixties, was very important and that has lasted until today. In order to vindicate this fact, the City Council commissioned me to create an element that would inform visitors of the origin of Palafrugell’s cork.

We devised four columns five meters high at the main access roundabout of the municipality. The word Cork, made in four languages on four iron columns with 3 sides allow the word to be read while it is circulating. The columns stand in front of a natural cork so that the columns form a cork skin that complements the trees of the forest
